Our Story
FOR almost a decade, the founder of World Animal Welfare, Jessi, has been traveling the world full-time, seeking out opportunities to help animals in need. Over the years, it became a routine—whenever she arrived in a new place, she would reach out to local animal shelters, offering her time and skills for free, whether during her free time on weekdays, weekends, or while on vacation.
BUT more often than not, she didn’t receive a response. Shelters were too overwhelmed with their daily operations to answer inquiries, let alone onboard a new volunteer. Many couldn’t assess whether Jessi would be a good fit, didn’t have the capacity to introduce someone to their daily routines, or simply lacked the resources to manage external support. Yet, whenever she did get the chance to help, the experience was incredibly rewarding. At the end of each day, she felt physically exhausted but deeply fulfilled—knowing that her time and effort had made a real impact.
AS she continued volunteering, she met countless people who wanted to help but faced too many obstacles. Some wanted to dedicate part of their vacation to volunteering but didn’t know where to start. Others were eager to donate but had no guarantee that their money would truly go toward the animals rather than administrative costs. It became clear that the gap between willing volunteers and shelters in need was far too wide.
THAT’S why Jessi decided to turn her passion into an organization—one that makes it easier for shelters to find volunteers with minimal effort and helps volunteers discover meaningful opportunities that match their skills and availability. Through World Animal Welfare, we also ensure that donations go directly where they are needed most—not into expensive salaries, but toward food, medical care, and essential supplies for animals in crisis.
SHELTERS AND NGOS around the world do incredible work, but they can’t do it alone. We are here to support them—with our time, our passion, our love and our resources. Because when we come together as a global community, we can truly make a difference for animals in need.
